A mod for Claude Code
A tiny orange guy who lives on top of your prompt box and has opinions.
Your terminal was a lonely place. Now a mascot walks a dotted meadow right above your cursor. He waves. He sits at a desk while Claude works. He keeps a village of everything you haven't committed yet.
That is the real plugin code, running in your browser. Click him. Click the ground. Right-click if he deserves it. Last reaction: none yet.
37 seconds
Every picture of the meadow in this video was rendered by the plugin's own engine.
When nothing is happening
He waves hello, then goes for a stroll and plays a random flourish every few seconds. These are the animations from the Claude desktop app, so he has a lot of range for a guy made of squares.
Click him: one of 21 reactions. Double click: a bigger one. Right click: grumpy. Four fast clicks: dizzy. Click the ground: he walks over, because he is very cooperative.

When Claude works
A laptop while Claude edits files. A big desktop while it runs commands. A suspicious look around while it reads. Thinking and handing work to a subagent get a move of their own.
He needs a couple of seconds between moods, same as in the plugin, so the buttons rest after a press.
When Claude asks permission
When Claude waits for an approval he drops everything, waves, points, and holds up a NEEDS YOU bubble. The catch: Claude Code draws its own permission dialog right on top of the meadow, so he does all of this where nobody can see. He is very proud of it anyway. The button shows what he does behind the dialog.
When a turn ends
A finished turn gets a cheer and the time it took, so you can feel something about it. A failed tool gets a facepalm. A turn that fails gets the facepalm and a warning bubble.
When subagents run
Every running subagent gets a tiny helper Clawdman at its own desk, typing away. Laptops and desktops take turns, because they have standards. When the row gets crowded the desks squeeze together, and the ones that do not fit are counted in a little +N bubble.
When you run low
The moon sinks as your context window fills. Past 90% he says so out loud. When a rate limit gets close, the moon turns amber, which is the universal signal for maybe go outside.
All day long
Sun by day, a low sun with stars at dusk and dawn, the moon at night. It all comes from your computer's clock, so the meadow always knows how late you are working.
When your repo is a mess
He peeks at git every 30 seconds and builds one house per changed file, up to 24. When there are more files than room, the houses squeeze closer together. Amber houses are staged files, white ones are changed. Nothing leaves your machine. He is nosy, not a snitch.
When you have been at it a while
After 50 minutes of Claude working, he stretches, meditates, and asks. He cares about your back more than you do. Change the time with /clawdman break 30 or tell him to stop with /clawdman break off.
Remote control
Everything is a /clawdman command inside Claude Code. Your choices are remembered.
| /clawdman | Send Clawdman away, or bring him back. |
| /clawdman dots · pixels | The dotted meadow (the default) or a solid pixel one. |
| /clawdman village on · off | Show or hide the houses. |
| /clawdman break 30 · off | Minutes of Claude working before the stretch, or never. |
| /clawdman renderer image · blocks · auto | Force pictures, force blocks, or let your terminal decide. |
| /clawdman fit 1.035 | Stretch the meadow so its edges line up with your prompt box. |
| /clawdman help | List every command. A typo gets a hint and never switches him off. |
| /clawdman status | Clawdman's own report: what he sees, the git counts, permission events, errors. |
Three steps
Clawdman's meadow is a real image, so you need a terminal that can show images. Ghostty, kitty, WezTerm and Herdr all can.
Add the repo as a marketplace, then install from it.
claude plugin marketplace add therahul-yo/clawdmanclaude plugin install clawdman@clawdmanOr run a local copy with claude --plugin-dir /path/to/clawdman. Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or newer.
Claude Code is shy about images unless you say it is okay. Add this once to ~/.claude/settings.json.
{ "env": { "CLAUDE_CODE_FORCE_TERMINAL_IMAGES": "1" } }Restart Claude Code so it reads the setting, then run the status command. If it says renderer image, you are done. If it says blocks, he is still there, just chunkier.
/clawdman statusPaste this into Claude Code, Codex or any coding agent. It does the three steps for you.
Set up Clawdman (https://github.com/therahul-yo/clawdman) for me in Claude Code. Run `claude plugin marketplace add therahul-yo/clawdman`, then `claude plugin install clawdman@clawdman`. Then add `"env": { "CLAUDE_CODE_FORCE_TERMINAL_IMAGES": "1" }` to ~/.claude/settings.json and keep everything already in that file. When you are done, tell me to restart Claude Code and run `/clawdman status`, which should say renderer image.No. He freezes the moment you type, the picture has a fixed height, and it is capped at about 11 frames a second.
The village runs git status --porcelain every 30 seconds, only while Clawdman is on screen, and counts files. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Claude Code's own collapse button for any plugin band. A plugin cannot remove it. We asked nicely.
